The web caught my hair as I exited the basement door. A movement near my left eye caused me to bat my hair and shake my head. A tiny spider swung out at the end of her web, heading for the ground.
I lifted my head back up, and Ms. Spider bounced back towards my legs. I felt the web still tangled in my hair.
The spider bounced and weaved at the end of her tether as I attempted to pull the sticky stuff out of my hair. The web cleared my hair after the 3rd pull. I deposited the arachnid on the cement and bade her good luck on her way.
She appeared dazed and dizzy but scurried off after a few seconds. Most garden spiders spinning webs are female hence I refer to my surprise companion for a few minutes as "she."
