I booked a video game voice over job recently.  It’s a horror game.  The developers asked for a minute of screaming and crying. 

It's cathartic just wailing away. It’s also hard work as each scream and cry must sound different.  Just 30 minutes of this exhausts me.

My dogs, lovingly referred to as the boys, see it differently.  To JJ and Benny, I’m really in pain.  Long sound absorbing curtains constitute my recording booth, but they don’t go all the way to the ground.

Just a minute of screaming brings the boys into the booth, tag wagging, wondering what on earth is wrong.  I assure them I’m fine.  They’re not convinced. 

Luckily for them, I don’t play a madwoman searching for a way out of hell often.  A role...
