It can be hard to explain to someone, anyone,

how or why to keep on going.

The hows usually spell themselves out;

Quit drinking,

clean up

eat better

find something useful to do

but the why is rarely as clear

There is always the fear of the alternative,

Death, to put it bluntly

For some

this is alleviated to some degree

by promised lands and afterlives,

but even still

most don't seem keen on death or dying

Self preservation appears to be

ingrained in most people,

those with faith or otherwise

I guess there is no universal

reason to live

I'm not talking about the

meaning of life, or why are we here

or other such grandiose non...
