It's sad like a painting

or it's sad like

a bonfire

or a trashcan

it's sad like a broken

wing or a chipped tooth

and sometimes sad like

heroin.

It's sad like the moon

when you walk alone

beaten and having

lost the courage to fight

on.

It's sad like a smile,

And when the simplest

things become wars,

then it strangles all

the rest of it

too
