a cold shoulder on a

sunny day

sometimes everything is

so perfect

it’s Ol’ Bean Pole

and his bottle of gin

sometimes he spits out

magic, sometimes

something else

but that’s alright

it’s about as perfect

as everything else

in a world where everyone

seems so hung up on

never knowing precisely

what’s coming next

and that’s interesting to me

because odds are good

the next thing is just

more biding time

striking hot irons and the like

yes my friend,

it’s a long line to

the waiting room

and it gives a strange

kind of comfort

like accidentally pissing

on your own shoe

and missing your sock<...
