In spite of visions

of grandeur and elegance

there the bottom thrives,

we, of crass mannerism

defiant sneers

contrarians to the

bitter end

or even the lazy one,

thriving, in spite

of universal duality

the permanent contradiction;

crooks and millionaires

and often one can be

both

in spite of this,

in spite of that tired

anthem of

"everything is fine"

in spite of shallow

comfort and discontented

disinterest

the true anthem plays

the true choir raises its

hoary voice to the

dependent universe

the tired groan of steel,

of tired men,

of tired women,

of tired children,

the tired machinations

of...
