I felt it,

today,

the sting of death

 

And it meant

very little to me,

where I felt it

should have

been

more

 

 

the emptiness

of not having you

in my life

no longer

meant much

 

The same old

familiar parts

still ached,

at least a

bit,

but the hurt

no longer came

 

we look at death

with all the wrong eyes

it doesn't take away

it simply

saps

but so slightly

you don't even

really notice it

 

 

so when I see

you in my sleep,

i might miss you
