Jimmy lay staring up at the darkening sky for a long time. He watched as the pale orange glow of the sun setting somewhere behind the mountains slowly became a pale blue, and then a darker grey and finally an intense black, speckled with the faint glow of distant stars. The shuffling of the boys had subsided, and soon he was staring at the star-filled sky, listening to the sad sound of the wind and the distant stirrings of the forest as it came to life. He was finding it difficult to fall asleep, despite the advice he had given the others.
