Harry had given Jayne a lot to think about. Or perhaps it was the opposite: had his revelations really closed the book? Now Caroline's sad tale was told, perhaps it was time to move on.

More days passed and Cade had still not regained consciousness, to the increasing concern of his doctors. They couldn't determine why so there was nothing to do except wait. Jayne, feeling slightly ashamed, used Cade's condition as an excuse to avoid Lucas. She didn't feel that she could face him yet, given what she knew.
