everything seems to have changed so much

but never changes as much as we imagine

the chains still clang and drag behind

we are still dogs beaten until br0ken

addressed, assessed, dismissed, diminished

whatever flavor penetrates the deepest 

to plant doubt and awaken uncertainty 

in the greenest minds.

sleep, eat, wake, stand in line

wash and repeat, whatever it takes to erase

the presence of time

there is no change in routine, just venue

the greed grows more intense inside the concrete

the lazy succumb, the strong rise

the silent survive.
