rapid like an obnoxious, newfounded settling
just at the edge of town, young throughout,

old within, from here we forget that edge of sight,
yet, slowly it grows, spreading like the hysteria
that accompanies, hate to be that school dance chaperone.
waiting until that prime moment
one so inconveniently placed, 
for that opportunity to erupt a shit storm explosion
like a jihadist attack
in the holy land

once a great place of inner beauty
has been pimped, downgraded
impregnated with a virus
it decays each passing day a little more, unnoticed
until it steadies itself and smiles
