the thistle years
Series Info | Table of Contents
the thistle years come as frightful
fears to the descending moon within your heart.
industrial walls claw with demanding
calls to the open-eyed; please stop your
wilful heart.
you're too small to be brilliant,
too well-natured to know the world;
read books, study,
get a job.
but wiry welcomes seldom
shelter acceptance and heed my words,
it won't stop.
you are not designed for oppression,
not wired for devastation
your heart is pure, that is all.
so open your eyes and do not
keep them from being wide,
see the world in all its glory
(and shame).
you are human and you are nature
and there you have always
belonged, with a mind filled with passion
and a heart
filled with love.
disappointment will not
grip you should you live within your
heart, so please, my friend,
don't you
play with it,
please,
don't even start.
