Soft shades of sorrow

blossomed

in arrangements sent.

They sat stoic,

unmoving

and picturesque

on the alter

prepared

for goodbye,

ingeniously

without scent

to carry home.

When hearts lament

there is no sound,

colors dim, and songs are still.
