Long day melds

with an August sunset,

like seas on a still night.

Immovable slow breath,

relaxed and released

from the day’s journey.

Heels hug sandy shores,

anchored heart sways,

now secure to drift…

to indulge in the offering;

pineapple juice drips

from coconut cocktails,

and mango moon

drops from a string

in the black sky…

bidding goodnight.
