I Live In The Rain

I live in the rain;

weeks and months of gray in my veins,

silver at the start, and then

reflecting

the rich glow of green – juniper and fir.


My gowns swell with waterfalls

dropping from ivory punchbowls;

celebration brims.

Vibrancy

dances atop rolling emerald hills.


Alas, too many days overcast my glow.

Hope drip-drops down swollen bones,

noisy splatter on concrete.

Saturated

colors drain to thunder and gloom.


Heavy hearts hide beneath wet soil,

patience tossed in the wind, until

that one sing-song morning,

glorious

golden rays of Spring casts her net…


And now I live in the sun,

blood rushing scarlet through my veins.<...
