Is the blue sky always blue?

Do the Himba notice it as anything other than light?

There is no name for blue in their language,

so, there is no blue sky,

although

the sky is always there.

Blue wasn’t founded

in our historical language; the word did not exist.

Then is it really there? And if so, could the feelings

connected with blue

be equally unnatural?

I wish…if it were possible

sadness could be an illusion.

Something we feel only because we’ve been given

the word. A name to identify it as separate, though,

if it didn’t exist,

would salty tears just roll

along chins,

like the sun warms fac...
