sitting out on the balcony with levi felt like something out of an independent film. it felt romantic in a strange way, even if the smell of cigarette smoke made me want to cough more. i eventually got the hang of smoking and breathed in more smoke than i would like. i spent a lot of time counting the freckles dotting levi’s nose, even if there weren’t that many. i just counted them over and over until i memorized the curve of his nose.
everything felt strange now. i was more aware of everything around me. the air was more gray than usual, but i liked the way the pollution tasted on my tongue mixed with smoke. i especially liked the way levi looked, crouched on the balcony with his shirt unbuttoned and the hairs of his chest standing up. he pushed his hair away...
