Barging into 2018 came with it the rise of the (almost non-existent) middle class. People of color stood ready to march to equality, the likes of which had been seen in some of the most memorable times in history. Women grew divided, standing on their own for seemingly the first time. The world felt smaller.
Small towns became talking points, like pieces in a chess game. Was it acceptable to call people out on their bigotry, when the American leadership was so fervently defending theirs?
