couldn’t follow you.” No Neck jabbed at Uncle Louie’s shoulder.

“But Louie.” Baldy paused and smacked his lips, “I’m smarter than you. One step ahead like the diner, like Pumpkin’s.   I knew you’d come here, I knew slapping Loretta around would bring you out in the open.” Baldy laughed. “You know the diner was easy, we just hung back and followed your girlfriend. She ain’t too bright leaving all kinds of signs to follow. Your good friend Billy, he gave up Pumpkin.”

“Good friend, Billy.” No Neck repeated and then spit.

“But the best, the best was that young piece of ass.  So caring, crying as she dumped your girlfriend in a cab and headed for the hospital. Didn’t even care that we were following her....
