she handed Angel a hairbrush.  “Always look your best.”

“I know this place across from Port Authority. A buddy has an apartment over some kind of store.”

“Well that's original, everyone in this city lives over top something.” Loretta was putting on the squeeze.

“Yeah, this store sells old stuff, whatta you call them?”    

“Junk shops?”

‘Pawn Shops?”

“Yeah that's it. You know, all kinds of stuff and clothes and junk.  Anyway, he lives there and he has plenty of room. We can shower and get something to eat and drink.”

Loretta was back at it.  “I know your friends. I don’t remember anyone who lives across from Port Authority.”

He dismissed her. ...
