Effort, PA – A traditional stop on PA Route 115 for those traveling east toward New York City. The 24 hour Effort Diner being the highlight of the town for hungry or thirsty travelers.  The amenities at the gas station are often rated top notch A Plus for those needing a quick comfort stop.
 

The windshield wipers were beating out a rhythm all their own as Uncle Louie and I headed up and over the eastern mountains of Pennsylvania on our way to New Jersey.  In a peculiar way the calm of the drive was a welcome respite from the excitement of the afternoon.   It did take some convincing, but finally Uncle Louie fell asleep or passed out and was now snoring curled up in the passenger seat wrapped up in his coat like a security blanket.
