I told them I had to dash off because I wanted to go and help those less fortunate than ourselves. They actually cheered me for it.” 

Clara smiled to herself. That was exactly what she wanted to hear.

And right on cue she heard Karl coming back from his training session. Everything was coming together perfectly.    

“Karl, come in here,” Clara called.

The lounge door opened and Karl’s eyes widened as he saw Hani sitting there.

 The girl was up on her feet in no time and held out her hand to shake Karl’s. “Good evening, Doctor Schubert. Frau Lehrs very kindly invited me to come and have coffee with her after my BDM meeting.”

Karl turned towards Clara and raised one eyebrow.
