“I explained it all to her last night,” said Helga as the three of them sipped a well-earned cup of tea after the last of the children had gone home and all of the preparations had been made for the next day. “She understands why the school exists.”

“Yes, but does she understand how important it is to keep quiet about what goes on here?” said Karl. 

“Yes, yes, she does. Though at first she thought she could help and it could be one of the charitable acts the BDM encourages her to do. That was difficult.”

“That’s precisely the problem. And she must never mention what we do to the other BDM girls. Goodness knows how committed some of their parents are to the party.”
