Once the three of them had taken their seats in their normal booth, tucked away in the back corner, and they had given the waitress their order, they continued their conversation. Faith took a moment to appreciate how nice it was to have the day off and to let someone wait on her for a change. She often worked weekends and long nights in order to earn overtime so that she could contribute to Hope’s college savings.
Alex looked at her seriously. “We really need to talk about Lance. You can’t keep lying and letting him that you are a runner when you’re not.”
“You really aren’t going to let this go, are you?” replied Faith.
Hope said nothing, but Faith could tell that her sister was listening attentively as she sipped her diet coke.
