The sound of Lance’s voice brought Faith back to the present.

“I’m sorry,” Faith said, “What did you say?”

“I said he was always a grumpy little dude. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him smile.”

“He smiles. He just needs to feel comfortable, that’s all.”

“Whatever. Dude always seemed kind of high strung to me. But I know you guys are tight.”

Faith blanched. She didn’t want Lance to think that she and Alex were an item. “We’re just friends. He is like a brother to me!”
