“Why not?”  Fenn was on a roll.  “Why not intelligence rather than blood and guts all the time?  Intelligence can sometimes save your life as well as a blade.”

            “Maybe… and maybe not,” the witch said.  “I can tell ya one thing for certain, Laddie.  You see that measly little wooden sword over there?  The one ya carry around like it’s the hammer of the gods?”  The ineffectual little weapon was leaning against the cave wall.  “It’s always gonna stay as useless as a paper doll until ya rid yourself of all that rubbish within ya.”
