The witch took a deep breath.  “The fact is, I was cursed many years ago to help people.”

         The boy stared at her.  “You were what?”

         “Cursed.  Hexed.  Jinxed.  To be completely honest with ya, it was a jealous witch that done it.  She never liked me, the old crone.”
