Letter from Alexis Blackwell to her family, July 1, 2003

Dear Dad, Mom, Jamie, Curtis, and Tim,

Sorry it’s been so long since my last letter! Being the associate editor for the newspaper has been a surprising amount of work, but I’m loving every minute of it!

My big news is that those locked file cabinets that I mentioned before are now UNLOCKED! I don’t know how it happened, exactly. There’s talk that someone broke in and opened them, but no one knows who could have done that. So maybe the camp is haunted (as some of the girls have been saying)! But if it is, I think she’s a benevolent ghost, nice enough to open the locks. (The other, more rational, theory has to do with changing air pressure and locks that were perhaps just jammed, not actually locked...
