There they were again; hundreds of them, with more appearing every time she blinked. Delia knew there was no point in pinching herself; she hadn’t dreamt before and wasn’t dreaming now. Fear gripped her; she was so close to getting home, to returning to a life of comfort, routine and all things natural. This land, in all of its spontaneous supernaturality, clearly wanted her out.
