I am not sure that this story will make the final cut in my newest book, THE FIRST TIME I SET MY HEAD ON FIRE AND OTHER CALAMITIES THAT OCCURRED WHILST I WAS MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS.

There are a few people that have read this and questioned whether or not it is going to be considered funny by those that are not NASCAR fans. I would love your feedback.

To get to where I am going and also maybe to help the story this all took place in 2001 on a Sunday. If you are not a long time NASCAR fan all you really need to know is it was three weeks after Dale Earnhardt Sr. untimely and tragic death at the Daytona 500.
