“Funny,” Ace said, “I thought I’d read she’d thrown a stun grenade earlier in the chase. Shouldn’t take a prophet to figure out she was probably carrying more.” Ace shrugged but continued to drive his point home. “Your commander is running a loose ship.”

     Holding Deadbolt out before him, Ace studied it, as dawn stole through the curtains. “This is fine craftsmanship, perhaps the old man’s finest,” he said, thankfully changing the subject. “And a one of a kind, if I recall.”

     “Yeah. Te-Mea only made one.”
     “Have you been to see him?”
     “I’ve been busy, as you can see.”
     Ace frowned...
