It was no secret that Raizen’s shortcomings placed the Minowara in a precarious position. Oyabun Kazuo Minowara was an old man and had but two living children: Raizen, and his sister, Omoe. The family must pass to Raizen, and it was likely to happen soon. But confidence in Raizen’s leadership was a topic of much rumor and hearsay, and not the positive kind.
