Hell, the house fronts losers all the time because what’s important in the end is the game. It’s communal, the game. Now compare ChoÌ„-Han to craps, a Western game. In craps, it’s every man for himself. Everyone’s trying to beat the house — the system — in whatever way they think is best. This ideology — the ‘every man for himself’ way — is flawed, you see, because without guidance, without the instruction of another person with a shared interest, people eventually, inevitably, lose. If enough people get knocked out, eventually the table dies, and the game dies....
