Germanus tried to ignore the tapping at his door. But the noise persisted.

‘Go away’ he murmured.

More tapping.

‘Go away, please!’ This time he shouted.

‘No, I won’t. I won’t, I won’t, I won’t!’

It was Barita. She rattled the door so hard that the latch broke and she fell into the room.  

‘Go away!’

‘No. I want to know what is wrong with you!’

‘Nothing! Nothing is wrong with me!’

‘Then why have you been crying?’

‘Yes, you have!’
