Going through that set of doors was one of the hardest things I’d ever done in my life. The dread I’d begun to feel as I left my family didn’t dissipate in the slightest as my handsome escort walked me into what had to be the main lobby. And, my word, what a place this was. For a very brief moment everything I felt got pushed to the back burner as I moved my eyes around my new surroundings, trying to take everything in without being overwhelmed.
The first thing which struck me was how bright the place was. Looking up, I could see the ceiling appeared to nearly be entirely made of glass — tinted like the windows and doors were — yet sunlight still poured in like a free-flowing waterfall.
