Chapter 42

A historic occurrence was taking place at John Versteeg’s hunting lodge. Two intelligent species, who had occupied the same planet since prehistoric times, but for untold generations did not associate with each other, were again working together. As far as Ruggum and Gilin knew, it was the first time kirins and humans had exchanged information for thousands of years.

    It was early evening by the time the old man finished treating Loana, and he had a suggestion for the kirins. “Why don’t you stay in the lodge? Actually, for as long as it takes for the bird to heal. The boys and I won’t be here all the time. We’ll be in and out.”
