One of the world's most iconic cities, Buenos Aires was a thriving metropolis that could compete for the title of "heart of South America" with Rio de Janeiro. Known for immense celebrations of life and death, B.A. had deep religious roots, particularly in Catholic tradition, and was home to dozens of architectural wonders that attested to the power of faith that guided so much of its history.

La Recoleta Cemetery was one of those places. Beautiful and haunting in all of its Gothic glory, with swooping wrought iron gates, statuary of angels and saints, highly detailed tombstones and air redolent with rhododendron and magnolia, the cemetery was a place where family and friends could commune and reminisce in peace, surrounded by centuries solidified in rock.
