Enki, dressed in a tuxedo, top hat, tails and bow tie, welcoming Ina into a ballroom to the applause of dozens of well-dressed guests. He'd hired several entire companies of actors from local theaters to be the cast of Ina's thirteenth birthday party, set in the beautiful Hotel Vivre in Paris, a gilded monument of marble and crystal.
She'd been exploring Asia and Europe for two years by Enki's side, and they'd decided to spend a little time in Paris before taking a boat across the Atlantic to New York City. It also happened that this particular birthday fell on New Year's Eve of a new century, as well. 1900 was coming in with a bang if Enki had anything to say about it.
