Vera wheeled her cart around to Mr. Hart while Michael set up next to his wife. It took another few minutes for them to  insert needles into their patients' forearms, fix electrodes to chests and temples, and then adjust settings on the electronic monitors and pumps fitted into the carts. IV bags filled with a light purple fluid, like watered-down grape drink, sat in cradles on the side of the carts.
