She began to jog off down a path toward a tangle of bushes. Frankie reached out and stopped her. “Princess, we can’t go chasing a cat through Jerusalem right now,” Frankie said. “We’re fighting time, here. We can’t stop. But I promise you, we’ll come back with you to find him.”
With a heavy sigh, Safa pushed away from Frankie and collapsed back against the gnarled trunk of an olive tree.
“Is everyone okay?” Peter squeaked from behind a bench.
Wilder moaned as he completed his transformation back into his human self. He reached around to his back. “I took a spear but it feel like it’s healed.”
