Wilder stepped in and took Ina by both shoulders. Her pupils dropped back into view and her arms spun in a blur. Wilder was swatted back, tumbled over the loveseat and into a glass curio cabinet with a crash. And then she screamed and fell sideways, into Frankie’s arms.

Paz and Barry sat staring on the couch, shocked. Safa ambled over to them and sat beside Paz, and spoke to her in a faint whisper, “How does this compare with your previous family life, young one?”
