Chelsea’s eyes opened to bright sunlight streaming in through the windows and the comfortable smell of coffee wafting up from the kitchen. She looked around at the rough log walls, unsure of where she was at first, but then smiled when she remembered. The dark fear and panic contrasted with the intense passion of sharing Dylan’s bed seemed so unreal compared to the brilliant warm sun of the new day.
She ran her hands over her body, warm under the duvet. No, it had been real. Very real and very incredible. She nestled further into the feather bed and comforter and closed her eyes again, replaying in her mind the feeling of Dylan’s hands stroking her skin, his mouth on hers, his lean, strong body making her feel things she never thought possible.
