Chelsea allowed herself to be led through the darkness to the door of the cabin. She stood with her arms wrapped around herself as Dylan fumbled to unlock the door. He pulled her inside the door, dropped her bag on the floor and leaned her against a wall.
She could see nothing. The cool, still air smelled faintly of fine and gave her an impression of spaciousness and quiet, all sound being absorbed by the thick, natural log walls.
“Wait here until I light a lantern,” he said, and was swallowed by the blackness.
“You don’t believe in electricity?” She called to the dark void.
