CHANNILLO
Baseball Dreams
By Debbie Pinkham

Series Description:

Lee is in high school and being scouted by the NYY baseball team.  He wants to go play pro ball, but if he leaves, his family can't make their farm work.

Will he stay on the farm for them, or leave for himself, and his once in a lifetime chance to make his baseball dream come true?

Based on the actual events of my husband, who was scouted as a pitcher for the NYY in the 50's, but had to quit school to work on the farm his junior year of high school, so he never got to play pro ball.

Category/Genre(s): Adult Fiction
Updated: Undecided
Status: Upcoming

Acknowledgements:

This story is lovingly dedicated to my husband, Lee, who really wanted to be a pro ball player, but made different choices, that led him to be the man he is today, a very good man, with a very big heart.  He loves to watch his precious baseball on tv every chance he gets, with me in the recliner next to him, watching and screaming along.

Notes:

No names have been changed in telling this story.  Lee's father has passed, and so has just about everyone else in this story.  He did have an older brother, Coy, but he left home when Lee was a little younger than a teen and didn't die, like he does in this story.  I mean, we have to have drama somewhere.  He did have 3 other brothers and 3 other sisters, and 1 sister who only lived a few months, a year and a half before he was born.  May they all realize how much they meant to Lee on his life journey.

Coy

Johnny

Gene

Doug

Lenore

Mary

Carol Sue

and Naomi, the baby who died before Lee was born
