Sig mopped sweat from his brow and let out a breath. He had been doing all of dad’s chores for a week and had a new-found appreciation for his father. He had finished milking the cows and feeding the chickens and horses. Now he was riding Prince along the fence to check for any breaks before letting the cows out to graze.

While the cows grazed he would brush out the horses, except Prince. He would need his horse to gather the cows back from grazing and into their protective pen for the night. He would be slaughtering a pig today which meant picking one before bringing it out to the slaughter area out back.

Sig took Prince up to a canter as he turned towards the last section of fence. No breaks so far which meant he wouldn’t have to do any extra work today. Prince knew their time...
