I use the walk to try to get my thoughts back in order. The last hour has been a pinball game of emotions - the fight with my brother, the dying rabbit, the frantic mother and the adoration of the little girl. I barely have time to make sense of any of it before I begin to recognize the outskirts the village. I realize suddenly that I wasn't as lost as I had thought and that if I had just kept my wits about me rather than going straight to panic mode - I probably would have found my way back before too long. I remember the fear that flooded my senses - and how it stopped me from being able to rationalize my way out of the situation - and a flame bursts in my cheeks.
