'What time do you think we should leave in the morning?' I asked Hardley at dinner.

 'Oh! Not too early I hope,' said Cecily before he could respond. 'Town is only a matter of three hours away.'

 'As you say, mother. I think we should aim to leave at ten. That way we can be sure of actually being on the road by around 11:15.'

 'Are you casting aspersions on our punctuality, my lord?' I said. 

 'Yes,' he replied bluntly. 

 'Don't listen to him Lydia,' said Louisa. 'It doesn't much matter when you leave, so long as it's in time to arrive before dinner.'

 'It's precisely that kind of attitude which makes me doubt your ability to be on time.'
