At last, the time for callers was over and we were able to settle down to luncheon. There was an excellent selection of fruit and I complimented Cecily on what her succession houses must be.

 'Oh! I never go near them. It is Louisa you should be praising. They are her project.'

 I turned to Louisa in some surprise. 'Indeed! It must be a very interesting hobby. Though perhaps not one you get to exhibit much?'

 She smiled, acknowledging the hit. 'It is more limited in that regard than music, for instance. But Cotleigh is quite famous for its fruit now and so all our guests have a tour of the houses sooner or later.'

 'You must take me soon. I would love to see them.'
