This is a traditional dish from Hungary, which makes ample use of the sweet Hungarian variety of paprika. This dish is bursting with flavor, and is traditionally served with egg noodle dumplings (see my recipe for Spaetzle for something very similar), rice or millet. I find that a nice side of steamed vegetables also compliments this well.

Additionally, this dish has been around so long that multitudes of cultures and individuals have put their own spin on it, making it one of the most difficult recipes to say is truly "traditional". Everyone has a different take on it, and this one is the one I prefer.
