I don't know about you, but I can remember eating these kinds of cookies when I was little at almost every Christmas or Thanksgiving or...heck, just about any holiday gathering ever. The recipe has been around forever, but because it's so simple, it's super easy to modify. This recipe is a fun take on the classic thumbprint sugar cookie. 

Wilton puts out a packet of sanding sugars specifically for easter, but I had some purple on hand, so I made some with that as well. That's completely a personal preference, the colored sugars do not taste different.
